Why is it Easy to Join the Medical Transcription Profession?

The critics of the medical transcription profession often ridicule it because of its easy entry. Wanna know if it true? It is. The profession allows anyone interested to join the profession. But still, not every Tom, Dick or Harry can become a medical transcriptionist. Why? Because it expects a certain aptitude that not everyone can demonstrate. OK, we will talk about that later. Today, let’s look into why the entry into the profession is easy.

  • The profession doesn’t ask for a formal qualification. You don’t need to possess a formal qualification to enter the field. No, this does not mean that medical transcriptionists are not qualified. They acquire the professional qualifications as they enter the industry. You don’t need any degree or certificate to make your way into the industry though.
  • The profession does not ask for an experience of any kind. You don’t need to possess any kind of working experience. Yeah, you can make an entry even if you are a high school grad. It does not matter if you have ever worked in your life.
  • It does not matter how old you are. This profession doesn’t care if you are 20 or 50. Your age does not matter as long as you can deliver good work.
  • It does not matter where you are located. You can be located in anywhere in the world and still become a medical transcriptionist.

Now, while you don’t really need to show anything before you join the profession, you should be capable enough to meet the quality goals and deadlines in the profession. Make sure you understand what the profession expects of you before you decide to become a transcriptionist.
