Didn’t I tell you earlier that home-based medical transcription may not be a good career option? Yes, I did. The home-based version of the profession is not for everyone. But that does not make the option bad. Let me tell you why it is a good career option.

You get to work from home! Now, most of us, some time or the other, want to work from home. You are comfortable and at ease when you are at home. You get to make your office space the way you prefer. Also, there is the promise of increased productivity.

As a home-based medical transcriptionist, you have the flexibility of choosing your work timings. You also get to choose how much work you want on your plate. As a freelancing transcriptionist, you also get to say ‘no’ to work you don’t like.

With your office at home, you don’t need to commute any longer. This not only saves your money and time, but it also does away with unnecessary harassment of traffic and crowd. And you do help the environment as well. No commuting means no car, which further means no pollution.

You can save on money being at home. And I am not just referring to saving the money you would otherwise spend on commuting. You don’t even have to invest in office wear. You’ll be surprised at how much money you save on this.

You get to save time. Since you no longer need to commute, you can use the time for your hobbies and your family.

Now, working from home is definitely great, but you must ensure that you can handle the responsibility before you start making an office at home.
