Future MT offers an excellent medical transcription training  program online. This course can be done from home and by working at the pace that is right for you and your current lifestyle. Unlike other training courses, Future MTs course includes 3 very important tools for training that will ensure they become the best MTs they can possibly be.

First is the thorough textbook that is included in the course. This book not only covers the basics, but the details necessary to be learned in the industry. Medical transcripiton is definitely a part of the general medical field but also contains a lot of specifics including medical specialties. With so many different facets to the medical industry and so many medical issues, they are broken down into specialties which are grouped by the areas or systems of the body. The textbook has 14 chapters in the second portion, each completely devoted to a specialty. The ones included are: Dermatology, Otorhinolaryngology, Ophthalmology, Pulmonary Medicine, Cardiology/Hematology, Gastroenterology, Endocrinology, Urology/Nephrology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, Neurology, Psychiatry, Pathology, and Radiology.

The next tool included in the training course is the CD-ROM. This is an audio/visual, interactive tool. It assists students in actually practicing transcription skills. With many practice exercises, it prepares students for actual work in the field. It has been found to be an important part of the training at Future MT and helps prepare students better than other tools.

The last thing included in the course that is a useful tool is the USB foot pedal. This is a piece of equipment used for transcription through the course. It is simple to install on your home computer as it simply plugs into a USB port. It is used to access the transcription files on the CD-ROM. Also, it can be compatible woth other transcription software you may use in the future.

If you want to be a medical transcriptionist, you have to undergo training at first that would include medical terms, study of the anatomy and use of various templates for different healthcare units.
