Being a lucrative profession, medical transcription has made many people to jumping into it without giving it much thought. Even though the profession has several benefits, it is not suited for everyone. One must know one’s interests and limitations before choosing this career. More often than not, people are clueless about starting a career in medical transcription. Let’s look at the steps that lead to a medical transcription career.
Know where you stand
This is the first step in deciding any career path. If you want to be a medical transcriptionist, find out if you have the aptitude for the job. A medical transcription should possess the following attributes:
- Good hearing skills
- Good command over English
- Knowledge of a word processor
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to work independently

Look for opportunities
Create a good resume and start posting it on job websites and the websites of medical transcription companies.
