Published by manager at 6:18 am under work at home

Along with being comfortable and flexible, home-based medical transcription can be stressful. And more often than not, it is the comfort and the flexibility that cause the stress. This is because we tend to take the convenience in the profession for granted and neglect the work at hand.

Stress becomes inevitable if you don’t know how to handle the perks of working from home. Often, the isolated working environment gets to you. Let’s look at ways you can keep your cool while working from home.

Make sure your workplace is not uncomfortable in any way. Try to avoid physical discomfort as much as possible. Get yourself a comfortable seat. Your posture can greatly affect the way you feel. A comfortable seat will ensure that you don’t add backache or neck pain to your stress. Use ergonomically-enhanced keyboard and mouse to avoid pan in your wrists.

Make it a point to use the work-space only for work. Having a laptop gives you the flexibility of being mobile. However, avoid working in any place you fancy. Stick to your workspace; it will not only provide you with a proper, noise-free environment but will also help you focus and be productive.

Take logical breaks often. Avoid sitting in one place for too long. Take a break, walk around your house or garden after you finish a logical set of tasks. This will also help you avoid arbitrary breaks that eat into your time.

Spend time with family and friends on a daily basis. In fact, plan vacations with them every few months. Don’t let the isolation in work take over your life. Being close to loved ones helps keep stress at bay.
